Questions to be asked to identify the correct scale variation....
1. What is the undercarriage of the grain cart, single axle or tracked?
2. Does the grain cart have large "metric" floater tires?
3. If the undercarriage is tracked, is there four shafts supporting the hopper (see illustration below)?
Scale-Tec does not provide the OEM kit option with the CT type of load cells (See description further below). We only recommend the OEM version of scale system if you are on very level terrain with little grade, or if you have oversized floater tires on your Grain cart.
Installation time for a single axle spindle kit is 6 hours or more.

Identify prior to purchasing....
- This kit provides load cell spindles of 4.5" diameter.
This kit can only be used with carts without metric/floater tires. If the cart has oversized floater tires, it is recommended that an OEM kit is installed on this system.
- Verify your hitch style looks similar to the picture below.

OEM Scale Kit vs. Scale-Tec Scale Kit
When looking at the scale system provided by the manufacturer (BRENT) on the model 1082 grain cart, there is a difference between what the manufacturer offers and what Scale-Tec offers. The information in this section provides a detailed explanation as to the differences of the scale systems and when it would be more appropriate to utilize one over the other. Both scale systems offer advantages pending your need. Scale-Tec only offers one style, the Manufacturers kit will need to be purchased directly from the manufacturer.
Primary DifferenceThe primary difference in the scale kit design, between what Scale-Tec offers and what Brent offers is the load cell types provided on the rear axles of the grain cart. Below are some illustrations and detailed information to identify why you would want to consider one over the other....
Brent Manufacturer (CT) Scale Design on Model 1082Scale-Tec does not provide this kit. This kit can only be acquired through the manufacturer.Compression Type (CT) load cell system above axle assembly-If wide metric floater tires this kit is a better option due to bending position on load cell-Does not provide the best accuracy on the system as these load cells require the grain cart to be perfectly levelto take an accurate measurement-Easier to install initially.-Commonly higher replacement item compared to spindle load cells due to the abuse on the rear spindle.
The only time Scale-Tec recommends the CT Load Cell system is if the grain cart has wide metric floater tires on your grain cart. If you do not have the wide flotation tires, it is best to utilize the spindle type.
Scale-Tec (Spindle) Scale Design on Model 1082
Spindle type load cell system-Provides better accuracy for scale.-Provides better durability in field environment over CT type of Load Cells.-Hardened at higher capacity tolerance more than original spindles on grain cart.
BRENT 882 Tracked
There is only one option for the BRENT 882 Grain Cart kit with tracks.
Installation time for the tracked system is 6 hours or more.

Identify prior to purchasing....
There is one variation of the tracked 1082 system that utilizes the CT load cells. This type of scale installation is very problematic and not accurate. The issues surrounding the accuracy of the load cell placement is caused by the flex of the axle frame. Scale-Tec does not promote nor provide the CT load cell system on the 1082 tracked grain cart. The only scale configuration that will work is the 5 POINT scale system highlighted below. If your grain cart does not have sockets and shafts already in place, then you will not be able to mount a scale system on your 1082 grain cart.
- This kit provides 4 load cell shafts that suspend the hopper, and an additional load-cell shaft for the hitch. The four rear points are shown in the figure below...
