Dashed Lines On Model 640XL

​ If you are having dashed lines on

your Model 640XL or Model  640,

on both the top and bottom of  the display

please follow these steps:

Step 1. Press & hold the "HOLD/MENU" button for 5 seconds or 3 beeps. Let go of the "HOLD/MENU"  button. "SETPAS" should be displayed.

Step 2. Using the "RM" & "HOLD/MENU" buttons enter in 640. "RM" is to increase the  number & "HOLD/MENU" is to advance to the next number. Once you have entered 640

press "PRINT/SELECT". "640" should be displayed.

Step 3. Press "PRINT/SELECT", "CONFIG" should be displayed. Press "PRINT/SELECT", a  number should be displayed. 

Step 4. Write down the number displayed! 

Step 5. Press "G/N" until you have exited the menus. 

Step 6. Press & hold the "HOLD/MENU" button for 5 seconds or 3 beeps. Let go of the "HOLD/MENU"  button. "SETPAS" should be displayed.

Step 7. Using the "RM" & "HOLD/MENU" buttons enter in 222174. "RM" is to increase the  number & "HOLD/MENU" is to advance to the next number. Once you have entered 222174  press "PRINT/SELECT". "DEFAULT" should be displayed.

Step 8. Press "PRINT/SELECT", "SURE?" should be displayed. Press "PRINT/SELECT", "DEFAULT"  should be displayed. 

Step 9. Press "G/N", "BUSY" should be displayed. Once "BUSY" goes away your scale head is  reset! :)

Step 10. Now you will want to go back into the scale head by holding down the "HOLD/MENU"  button again. And enter in 640 then press "PRINT/SELECT" 

Step 11. Press & hold the "HOLD/MENU" button for 5 seconds or 3 beeps. Let go of the "HOLD/MENU"  button. "SETPAS" should be displayed.

Step 12. Using the "RM" & "HOLD/MENU" buttons enter in 640. "RM" is to increase the  number & "HOLD/MENU" is to advance to the next number. Once you have entered 640  press "PRINT/SELECT". "640" should be displayed.

Step 13. Press "PRINT/SELECT", "CONFIG" should be displayed. Press "PRINT/SELECT", a  number should be displayed. 

Step 14. Using the "RM" & "HOLD/MENU" buttons enter in the config number that you wrote  down earlier then press "PRINT/SELECT".

Step 15. Press "G/N" to exit out of the menu. After "BUSY" is displayed then goes away your  scale head is now set back up and should be functioning properly! :)

If You Have Dashed Lines In The Center Of Your Display:

Step 1. Press & hold the "HOLD/MENU" button for 5 seconds. Let go of the "HOLD/MENU"  button. "SETPAS" should be displayed.

Step 2. Using the "RM" & "HOLD/MENU" buttons enter in 640. "RM" is to increase the  number & "HOLD/MENU" is to advance to the next number. Once you have entered 640  press "PRINT/SELECT". "640" should be displayed.

Step 3. Using "HOLD/MENU" ensure that "640" is displayed then press "G/N".

This should have returned your scale head to 640 format.
