Questions to be asked to identify the correct scale variation....
1. What does the hitch area look like?...
-Is it welded directly to the "A-Frame" of the hitch area?
or
-Does it have a sleeve welded directly into the "A-Frame and swivel?"
or
-Does it have an end cap secured with six bolts which provides a "bolt on sleeve" for a swivel hitch?
2. Does the grain cart have large "metric" floater tires?
3. What year is the Grain Cart?
-If you can not determine what year your grain cart is, refer to the pictures of the hitch below, which will provide an indicator of age.
4. Does the Grain Cart have four sleeves welded to the underside of the axle with inside diameter of 2.88"?
-See Variation 5 for an illustration of the sleeves.
5. Does the Grain Cart have "Rice Axles?"
-It is very important to know the year of manufacture for the RICE axle.
There are seven variations of the J&M 750 Grain Cart Scale system. The older variant of the J&M 750 requires welding of a sleeve within the hitch area, while the current and newer variant is completely bolt on. Special attention must be paid attention to regarding hitch identification as related to the variation of scale kit needed.
Variation (1) 3.75" 1999 and Older

Identify prior to purchasing....
- Grain Cart was manufactured in 1999 or before.
- This kit provides load cell spindles of 3.75" diameter.
Ensure your current spindle size is 3.75" Diameter.
- The hitch may be one of two different variant as shown in the images below.....
This image shows a rigid hitch welded directly to the A-Frame of the grain cart. This requires a weld-on scale system.
This hitch shows a sleeve with a swivel hitch. This requires a weld on scale system.
It is important to note, after installation of the scale system your hitch receiver will no longer swivel.

Variation (2) 3.75" 2000 and Newer

- Verify Grain Cart was manufactured after the year 2000.
- This kit provides load cell spindles of 3.75 diameter.
This kit can only be used with carts without metric/floater tires. The spindle is reduced to 3.75 via a bushing insert in the spindle sleeve. DO NOT ORDER THIS KIT IF YOU HAVE LARGE FLOATER TIRES!
- Verify your hitch style looks similar to the picture below the hitch receiver retained by 8 bolts to the frame of the grain cart.

Variation (3) 4.5" 2000 and Newer (LITE HITCH)

This kit is completely bolt on. Expect installation time to take 6 hours or more.
Identify prior to purchasing....
- Verify Grain Cart manufactured after the year 2000.
- This kit provides load cell spindles of 4.5 diameter.
This kit is required if you have large metric floater tires on the grain cart.
This kit has a lighter 2.5" Hitch Load Cell. Scale-Tec recommends that grain carts that have an 800 bushel capacity utilize the heavier hitch kit (Variation 4) for use on the grain cart. If you readily overload the grain cart, or harvest heavier test weight commodities, it is recommended to utilize the heavier hitch variation (Variation 4).

Variation (4) 4.5" 2000 and Newer (HEAVY HITCH)

This kit is required if you have large metric floater tires on the grain cart.
- This kit provides a heavier 2.88" load cell shaft.
- Verify your hitch style looks similar to the picture below the hitch receiver retained by 8 bolts to the frame of the grain cart.
