Settings
POINT supports a whole new method to making settings changes on the hardware. You may be familiar with other brands of indicator which require a button sequence and timing sequence to access settings menus. With POINT, all of that goes away because we use the mobile app to make settings adjustments. The following instructions show you how to easily access the settings menu from the POINT mobile app and change individual settings on the device.
1. From the Live Scale display, click on the Device Settings button.
2. Click on "Configure Device" within the list.
3. Click on "Adjust Individual Settings"
4. Click on the individual settings and make your settings adjustments.
As soon as you make a settings change, it will take affect in the POINT Device.
5. Click Cancel to back out of the device adjustment page.
Display:
Back light Brightness: 0 - 100 This provides the brightness percentage of the LED Back light on the POINT hardware.
Contrast: 0 - 255 This provides darker or lighter lettering of the POINT LCD. We recommend optimal viewing at a value of 110.
Units: Lbs or KG This provides the units of measure for the POINT unit.
Language: Spanish or English
Count: This setting provides the increment of scale weighing (rounding the weight to the nearest size increment)
LCD Screen Refresh Rate: This setting provides the LCD screen update refresh frequency.
Other:
Power State: On/Off this provides the ability to power the unit on or off.
COM 1 Parity: This provides the parity for RS232 on COM 1 of the POINT device.
COM 2 Parity: This provides the parity for RS232 on COM 2 of the POINT device.
COM 1 Baud: This provides the baud rate for RS232 on COM 1 of the POINT device
COM 2 Baud: This provides the baud rate for RS232 on COM 2 of the POINT device
Scale:
Weigh Mode:
Grain Basic: This is used as a platform/hopper weighing type of scale
Grain Advanced: Similar to the Grain Basic, and in the future will have advance features with new firmware release
Animal Basic: This is used as a "lock on" type of scale for animal weighing
Animal Advanced: This is used with the Animal Basic, however it allows for connectivity via Bluetooth to an EID reader for record management.
Capacity: this number represents the capacity of the scale system.
Digital Input Mode: This provides a remote tare capability for purposes of connecting a wired remote for taring of the POINT device through the power connector.
Filter Sample Depth: This provides the "sensitivity" of the scale system. We recommend a value of 10 for "medium" and general weighing purposes.
Tare Value: Current tare value of the scale indicator (if within the tare mode).
Calibration Weight: This is the weight value at 0.4 mv/v output, or commonly known as the CAL number in a Digi-Star Indicator, or Custom number in the Avery Weigh-Tronix indicator.
Lock- On Start Time: Enabled when using the scale in the "Animal" modes. This is the value in "seconds" that represents "Tracking" on the indicator. This represents the time the scale recognizes the animal first stepping onto the scale and prevents the weight algorithm from enabling.
Lock-On Average Time: This is the time in seconds where POINT averages the weight of the animal. Longer average time increases the accuracy. Shorter average time decreases the accuracy.
Lock-On Release Percentage: This is the percentage of weight value compared to the capacity of the scale where the scale breaks its lock on the animal weight and begins to track again.
Zero Track Duration: This is the time in seconds that the scale maintains its tracking (below the Zero Track Minimum weight) before it re-zero's the scale system.
Zero Track Standard Deviation Limit: This is the deviation percentage compared to the gross weight value.
Zero Track Maximum Weight: This is the weight value that zero tracking begins its "duration time" for automatically zeroing the scale.
SETPOINT
This section provides a interaction with an alarm or relay control.
Digital Output 1 Mode: Enables the Load SetPoint.
Load Set POINT: The value (in whole number) for the load setting to be achieved.
Load Set Point Tolerance mode: Choose weight as the method for reaching a tolerance to activate the digital output or choose percentage of Load Set Point to activate the digital output.
Set Point Tolerance Weight: The weight value prior to the Load Set Point to activate the digital output, if the Load Set Point Tolerance mode is set to "Weight."
Set Point Tolerance Percentage: The percentage of weight value of the Load Set POINT to activate the digital output prior to the value of the Load Set POINT, if the Load Set POINT Tolerance is set to Percentage.
