Tools Required

Internet connectivity to Android or iOS device is required for initial set up.  However, internet service (Cellular data/Wifi) is not required to function once the POINT device is setup, and will work offline.

1. Assemble the POINT device

1. Remove both the POINT unit and adapter module from packaging.  Slide the adapter module into the rails located to the back and bottom of the POINT unit.

2. When the adapter is flush and in place, use a #4 Phillips screwdriver and tighten the four captive screws.

2. Mounting Options

The POINT unit mounts to three different systems:  Rail Mount, V-Plate Mount, and Ram Mount.  Refer to the illustrations below that matches the mount you have.

1. Rail Mount

2. V-Plate Mount

3. Ram Mount

To mount the Ram Mount, remove the hardware from the rail mount and secure the Ram Mount to the rear of the enclosure.

3. Cable Connections

Plug power and load cell cables into the adapter module.  Refer to the connector cable that matches your specific adapter module (as indicated on packaging).  Do not turn on the unit until you have completed step 4.

4. Download the App

Your mobile device must be connected to the internet to complete this step.  Download the Scale-Tec POINT mobile app.  Register and log into the app.

5. Turn On POINT

6. Connect Device with App

First look to the upper left corner of the POINT screen to find the product number (immediately after you turn your POINT on).  Once you have found the number, scan for the POINT unit in the app.  Select the POINT unit on your mobile device to connect.

7.  Complete the profile setup

You are now ready to use your POINT device.  It is not necessary to use POINT with the mobile app, and POINT can be operated with just the front panel button interface.   Use the mobile app to refine your calibration, configure more profiles, or adjust settings within your POINT.  Refer to further POINT help articles for more information.
