J-Star Model 10, Cracked Window & Scratched Overlay
If you have a fracture or crack in the window/overlay of your scale head and want to save money you can use the following information.
KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS NOT THE RECOMMENDED ROUTE! IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU REPLACE BROKEN PARTS/COMPONENTS WITH NEW ONES!

You
can use a thick piece of clear tape cut at least 1/4 inch larger that the
crack/scratch

You
will want an adhesive/sealant that is waterproof. I would recommend “Amazing
Goop” (Marine). It is very easy to use and quick setting.
You do not want to put the adhesive directly on to the crack of the window this might make it hard for you to read the LCD!

Apply
a small amount of adhesive first to the outer edge of your tape, then
starting at one corner gently set
into place. Try to keep it strait and even as to eliminate any air bubbles.

AWT Model 640, Random Beeping & Zero's On It's Own
If your scale head is beeping and zeroing on its own it is most likely a keypad issue. The only way to fix this issue is to have the overlay replaced with a new one.
EZ 2400V Scale Won't "ZERO" Due to Keypad.
To confirm this issue gently run your finger across the keypad buttons Do Not Press, they should beep without being pressed. I replaced the Keypad, Window, & Serial Connector.
